COG sources report that the Cape Cod Commissioners have decided against Barnstable Assistant Manager, Paul Niedzwieki, for the Cape Cod Commission Director’s job.
Paul, who is scheduled to have an interview for the job tomorrow, might just as well stay home.
If there are COGgers out there who know Paul, why don't you call him and save him the trip down here.
The Deputy Director job, that is to be Demitrius Atsalis’ hasn’t been created as yet.
Demitrius will have to relax until the new Director is hired and gets his feet wet.
County Commissioner Lance Lambros is still on the job, so the Commissioners will make room for Demitrius in the middle part of next year,
if capecog.com goes off line.
COG advises Paul N. to look for work north of the two bridges, because his name is tarnished locally.
Good luck in your career, Paul, because from this corner, it looks like you’ll need it…
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush…It's not to smart to give up a job that pays $100,000+ when you don't have another in hand.
As far as COG is concerned it's good riddance the bad rubbish, because you weren't worth the money on the town job.
While we're on the subject of a promissed "cushy" job that Atsalis isn't anywhere near qualified for, why does the County Commission hire the Cape
Cod Commission Director?
The way I look at it, the Assembly of Delegates, who have to work with the Director on a daily basis, should be the people who hire him/her.
The legislature killed county governments all over the state except here, the Islands, and the Berkshires nine years ago.
The Berkshires have had a regional government to replace its former county government for eight years.
The legislature got rid of county governments for the same reason why Atsalis will get his $95,000 job...Counties were/are maggot magnets.
Who's going to finish all the crap Paul N. was in the middle of like, Main Street, Pearl Street, 725 Main Street, the Walkway to the Sea, the Performing Arts Center, and the sheds on the Ocean Street docks, etc.?

Gary, no doubt that Paul did one fine job screwing up the downtown area with the UNable assistance from the GROSS MISMANAGEMENT Dep't with so many of Manager klimm's OTHER pals!
Turns out that Mr. Klimm's old pal wasn't so 'loyal' after all.
Know what I think?
I think that Paul saw the future... The Charter CHANGE/ REFORM and wanted out now while the ship was still on top of the water..
Friends, the ship is beginning to 'tilt', let's say...
Gary, keep up your great work and to all out here, PLEASE, keep supporting us and COG, which, by the way, is NOT citizen for Gov't but what it STARTED as, "CITIZEN (S) for OPEN GOVERNMENT!
Hank Farnham, hear that? FLIP FLOPPER (JANET)< hear that? Mr. Tobey, hear that? And by the way Harold, you are on record as stating that SOME weeks the councilors work 100 hours. THAT had to be the biggest bomb in the world! Harold, HOW MANY hours did you put in THIS week?
And of course we have the other wonderful councilors... and NOT ONE still has the GUTS to HELP the TAXPAYERS here...
Don't worry Mr. Farnham and FLIP FLOPPER, when I FINALLY DO get the WASTE on how much the taxpayers have had to fork over, YOU TWO will be the very first to KNOW!
We have the absolute WORST TOWN COUNCIL in the history of this town, and yes, the worst Manager as well. He thinks money grows on trees! Well John Klimm, it does NOT!
And I am GLAD to see Paul gone. The last Asst Manager made about HALF what Manager Klimm paid to his PAL, Paul! And then came Paul, who had even LESS training than the LAST Asst Manager Joellen.
So Paul, as Gary said, no offense, but good bye and yes, good riddance. Oh, and Paul, good luck too. You just might need it...
There was an Asst Town Manager with a LAW DEGREE. Gee, I wonder what he saw in being John Klimm's side man. Paul, maybe you could send Mr. Klimm your Atty resume. What the hell, we are already PAYING for SEVEN. What the heck? What's another?
Posted by: J J | August 29, 2007 at 07:09 PM
Today's article was a joke. Manager in no 'rush' to find a replacement'. Good. Then let's SAVE his $ 95 K and let some poor kids ride the bus to school! And while these clowns are at it, get RID of SIX of the SEVEN Attorney' on the taxpayer PAYROLL and there WOULD BE NO BUS FEES at all!
This is a big joke, that the Manager is in search of a 'qualified' Asst. Mr. Klimm, NO OFFENSE JOHN, but really..... HOW 'qualified' does anyone have to be? Being Mr. Klimm's FRIEND gets someone an extra $ 45 K. At least it did for Paul. The former Asst Joellen must wonder WHY someone came in, took her place with LESS qualifications, and got paid an EXTRA $ 45 large!!
Good night to everyone, and that includes you too Manager Klimm. I bet he wishes computers were illegal!

good job, COG.
Tell ya what. I'll renew your URL and you keep at 'em. Do you want 1, 2 or 10 years?

The Poyant's are out. They can't deliver the votes.

You're always counting the chickens before they're in the roost. Get real.

I've been right on everything else.
I broke the Niedzwieki story four days before the CCTimes.
I broke the Tom Bernardo/Atsalis story a week and a half before it happened.
I broke the Niemi not getting paid story five days before the Patriot reported it.
I broke the story that Klimm fired Niedzwieki four days before the CCTimes reported it.
Klimm still denies that he didn't lose it when Niedzwieki told him he applied for the job. A COGger just happened to be outside his office when the fireworks went off.
I've broken hundreds of stories before the press even had a clue. Maybe didn't want to print in the last two years.
Two weeks ago when I wrote this story, I told Atsalis, Bernardo, and Niedzwieki that if they would sign an affidavit saying the stories were untrue I'd publish an apology the next day.
I haven't received a telephone call from any of them as yet, including Atsalis, who is always the first to call when something is untrue or shaded.
You don't get it. Blogs break the stories, the conventional media is ordered to hide.
Posted by: Gary Lopez | August 29, 2007 at 11:40 PM
It was a blog that broke the Glen Marshall/Wampanoag story before the press picked up on it.
The same with Dick Chaney, the same with Janet Joakim.
Why do you read blogs?
Posted by: | August 29, 2007 at 11:43 PM
That was Gadfly, who has credibility. This is Gary, who makes everything up.There is not one thing in your blog that is true. You make it all up.
Posted by: | August 30, 2007 at 05:16 AM
That's right. Several hundred people come here every day to read what Mr. Lopez has to say because he makes it all up. Now go back to bed and watch your cartoons, wingnut.
While Gary did break the story about Paul N., it is now common knowledge that Paul was fired on the spot when Klimm found out about the CCC job, and it wasn't pretty. Anyone who doubts that at this point is either trying to do damage control for Klimm or has no connections to anyone remotely involved in what goes on in town hall.

Lynn Poyant is a natural and good replacement for Neidsweiki.

So Gary, Paul N. is gone?

BARNSTABLE — And then there was one.
Barnstable Assistant Town Manager Paul Niedzwiecki will be the only candidate interviewed today by a search committee responsible for finding a new executive director for the Cape Cod Commission.
Niedzwiecki was chosen from 16 candidates who submitted resumes during a second round of recruiting for the position.
"I don't think any of us planned to go out for a second round," Barnstable County Commissioner Lance Lambros said yesterday.
Controversy over how the search process was handled led to the resignation of search committee members Robert Jones of Sandwich and Susan Kadar of Truro, the search panel's two Cape Cod Commission representatives.
County Commissioner Mary LeClair, who is one of the three remaining members of the search committee, said she pored over the 16 resumes and Niedzwiecki's would have naturally risen to the top of the pile regardless of the process.
"Some of the applicants that applied in this round were the same applicants that applied in the first round, and in some cases were lacking either the planning or the managerial experience," LeClair said.
Niedzwiecki has experience with the Cape Cod Commission and would hit the ground running, she said. "He knows that in order for the Cape Cod Commission to survive you've got to have a balance between the environment and development."
Despite the search panel resignations and the need for a revised search, the process of picking a successor for former executive director Margo Fenn was not subverted, Lambros said. "I think we kept the process valid and I think we got the best person," he said.
As long as Niedzwiecki does well in today's interview, his candidacy for the regional planning agency's top job will likely be forwarded for a county commission vote on Sept. 5, Lambros said. "That doesn't mean that he will necessarily be hired," he said. "If it works out that he is, then I assume we'll hire him on the fifth."
County Administrator Mark Zielinski and Assistant County Administrator Margaret Downey are the other two remaining members on the search committee. Zielinski was in the county offices yesterday, according to staff, but was unavailable for comment. Downey is on vacation until Sept. 4, according to a message on her voice mail.
Several members of a task force that examined the Cape Cod Commission's policies and procedures last year said yesterday they considered Niedzwiecki a good choice for the executive director job. "I'm excited by his background," said Sandwich Selectman Thomas Keyes, a member of the 21st Century Task Force. "I'm hopeful that a strong manager would make the organization perform the way we would hope they would perform."
A change in leadership may also help address critiques included in a minority addendum to the task force's final report, he said.
Niedzwiecki could not be reached for comment last night.

If there is no rush for replacement to replace our Town Manager...get Klimm to go to those commmittee meetings that he delegates so nicely.
Klimm enjoys praise and kudos but acts swiftly when the bridges collapse...

My sources haven't been wrong yet.
The whole idea of blogs is to pull back the drapes and open the window on corrupt practices. Just like lifting up a boulder and watching the bugs all flee in every direction, the corruption, once under the spotlight goes away.
Niedzwieki may be interviewed today, but he won't be hired.
There are at least ten others who filled out applications, and are scheduled to be interviewed next week.
I believe the decision won't be made until the second week in September.
I'm batting 1,000, it's you're right to bet against me.
I've identified myself. I'm in the phone book.
I write a post everyday, sometimes two.
1,200 people everyday log on here and read the posts.
The pictures are almost always copies of documents supporting my position.
Who are you? What have you ever done for anyone other than yourself?
Let us know, we're all ears.

Gary you been right most of the time? Someone recently pointed out that you've often failed at what you've attempted. Stop kidding the public.
COG remains FOG.
Cipolini - Gary's advice on megabucks; will tax collecting be next?

Look, buttplug from 8:53, if Gary is so full of shit, then why do you keep logging in?
Go read Janet Joke 'em's hate blogs, or get your information from the local rags.
People read the COG because Lopez makes people THINK. The citizens of this town are waking up, and when they start to realize just how bad things really are in town hall, they will re-define
the meaning of "main stream" by voting for people who want real and positive changes in our community.

WOW, COG is rocking today! I am too busy to say much but everyone keep it up! This 'grass roots' blog is working, just in time to save our town from a bunch of HACKS! As Howie Carr would say.
And to Oliver, thank you, not just for what you have to say, but having the real integrity to log in as WHO you are, UNLIKE the clowns who are SUPPOSED to be our 'leaders'. As in Jim Munafo, the FLIPFLOPPER, Janet Joakim, Hank (Mr. EX himself) Farnham, Mr, Klimm himself and others. Even Bob Smith himself said he NEVER reads this. Want to bet?
Sure, they are ALL reading this with hundreds of others and they are getting HERE what the local papers WILL NEVER print. It is called the plain TRUTH!
i heard a whilc back that MANAGER KLIMM placed BLOCKS on the town computers because he did NOT want the GOOD HONEST HARDWORKING REAL TOWN EMPLOYEES reading ALL THIS! This makes sense. MY BET is that MANY of the good hardworking people who DO WORK for our town have suffered greatly in the past. NO RAISES yet Mr, KLIMM sees no problem with WASTING our $$$ on SEVEN Town Atty's and on top of this, the TAXPAYERS have to fork out MILLIONS MORE on outside law firms!!
That is okay, Mr. Manager, have no fear. We also know that MOST of the town employees who are BLOCKED from daytime reading of COG most likely DO log on at night so your attempt was for naught...
Thank you as always to ALL who SUPPORT COG and this is not a game. We are here for real REFORM!
Thank you.

I just walked by Paul N's house and saw him standing on the front steps. He was all dressed up for an interview and had on a very shiny pair of black shoes on.
I waved. He waved. He doesn't know me.
I wonder if he'll get the job.

JJ Kudos to you too! As one of the soon to become Charter Commissioners to make our Town more vibrant and robust with integrity, you seek the truth and are not initimated by inserting your rights in the first amendment.
I was sealcoating some cracks in my driveway yesterday and while doing so I thought of how dirty this politics stuff can be.
I visited Town Hall first thing this A.M. and had to get some business done. The Clerk's ofice their is tops!!!
I wanted to recover some of my missing signings that were swept up by the Town or by the gophers of friends that don't know how to be humble, honest and insert visceral fortitude.
I got back 3 of the 20 signs that I lost so far in this young election. I only put up about 45 signs or so. I removed some questionable signs immediately because there was a question of there placement not being on private property.
Some people in this Town need to build fortitude and a sense of respect for the democratic elective practice.
Taking signs down, stepping on them, runnng them over and becoming mid-night mirararders lacks are prosecutible and show the need for a two week trial of Activia!
