Spinoza said children who were abused, ignored, neglected, or maltreated by their parents grow up to be abusive, angry hateful adults

Spinoza also wrote that the true victims of hate are those who hate,

because their aberrant human behavior results from desire or the perception of pain. 

The hate object, who typically unaware, is unaffected.

Conversely the "hater" is the true victim as he or she is consumed by the bile created by the negative energy.

I've been rough on Barnstable Town Council President, Janet Joakim, lately,

so in deference to the 600-700 local residents who log on every day,

and the 200-300 who log in from various parts of the United States,

who may not know Janet Joakim,

 I've pasted some random posts and comments gleaned from her website yesterday,

so everyone will have an idea of what we've been dealing with.

A few of us have been politically active supporting

property tax,

school,

local government,

and fire district

reform.

For example we've worked to get the Residential Exemption and Split Tax Rate adopted,

questioned the efficacy of the town’s five independent fire districts,

attempted to restore the Barnstable School District as one of the best in the state,

and change the town charter for more accountability in local government.

Citizen for Open Government started as a means of communication for signature gatherers in the new city charter movement.

The hate victims in Janet's website made the mistake  of running for offices at the time held by Joakim's cronies,

or for Charter Commission, which was an effort strongly opposed by the Council President.

For most COG-supported candidates the effort was their first political experience.

The charter change referendum was overwhelmingly approved by voters, but only one of the candidate was elected to the nine-member panel.

Three COG-supported candidates ran 11th, 12th, and 13th, separated by 23 votes, in the field of 22.

The 11th finisher, Taryn Thoman, was only 40 votes behind the 10th place finisher.

And the three others were within110 votes from winning a seat.

Not bad for a bunch of virtual unknowns who spent less than $1,000 combined who had to compete against former well-known Councilors, and town employees

Most of the COG-supported charter commission candidates received three times more votes as Council President Joakim did in her election two years ago,

but while her few votes came from a precinct, COG candidates ran at large.

Janet Joakim is the de facto Mayor of Barnstable, because she was elected President of the Town Council by 13 peers on the panel.

As the highest ranking elected public official in Barnstable, Joakim’s morals and ethics should be held to a higher standard than those of her lay critics.

Yesterday I gleaned comments and posts during the last month from her internet blog, so all can see what we've been up against.

For those unfamiliar with the people who were personally attacked  by the Barnstable Town Council President, Janet Joakim,

because they represented differing political views,

read the brief bios;

Gary Lopez, 73, a retired businessman, and activist who has lived in Centerville for 20 years, and the author of the COG blog.  

Taryn Thoman, married, and the mother of a six-year old son.  Taryn has owned and operated Taryn’s Mirror on Main Street, Hyannis for 21 years, and was a COG-supported candidate for Charter Commission.

Tom Dolby, 60, a retired Marstons Mills Postmaster, a former 16-year School Committee member/Chairman, COMM Water District Commissioner, and recently  defeated School Committee candidate.

Paul Gauvin, 72, a journalist for the Barnstable Patriot, who retired from the Cape Cod Times ten years ago.

Peter Doiron, 73, is a retired librarian.  Doiron worked in New York City supervising thousands of library employees, and a candidate for Charter Commissioner.

John Julius, 55, a real estate broker/salesman, has sold more than 3,000 homes in the last twenty years in Barnstable, and a Charter Commission candidate.

Greg Milne, a Barnstable Town Councilor from Precinct 13, and the third-highest vote getter for Charter Commissioner. 

Greg was also responsible for getting the 7,000 voter signatures on the Charter petition. 

All were candidates for political office earlier this month.

Conversely most of the people who commented on Joakim’s blog are anonymous.

Joakim is responsible for all material on her website

Most of the personal attacks on Barnstable Town Council President Janet Joakim's website were directed at Taryn Thoman.

Taryn, having endured more than enough untrue personal attacks by Joakim,

will exercise her constitutional right to remove her elected oppressor from office.

Tomorow Tary will collect signatures on an affidavit to recall Janet Joakim based on the fact

that Janet lied to voters in 2005 with her pledge to "honor their wishes" on the Split Tax,

and Joakim's abuse of power through her personal attacks.

Most of the material pasted below is vile and vicious.

The first item was copied from a recent post by Janet in which she admits criticism from her peers;

"There are some councilors who have let me know they are uncomfortable with me discussing these hate-bloggers on my own blog."

"I agree, I would like to use this blog as a tool to disseminate information about our town, positions on current town issues, and personal observations about life……  I don’t want to rehash negative trash talk being spewed on other blogs.  These fellows lost their races.

Janet Joakim

Take my word for it that is the opposite of what most others in the business think of him.He is cut-throat, mean, and out to make the buck for himself and his agency.

In business, he is just as you see him on the pages of all of these blogsites.

I would love to give you details but I am not going to sign my name and you would need to substantiate the facts before posting them to protect yourselves from liabilities. Trust me, this guy loves to file his law suits!

Julius is a cancer on the butt of this penisula. I appreciate all of these blogsites because it allows people to see what they are getting with him.

Janet,

let me start by saying this; Thoman’s son has never been targeted, called names or even spoken to by me or my husband. The vulgar things that Mr. Wilcox, Thoman’s husband uttered from his mouth election day, made my ten year old cry. These people use there son as a “trump card” to gain sympathy. Their son has been out riding his bike by himself on our road while we have been outside, not seeming at all afraid. I hope poeple are smart enough for Thoman’s drama. She was the one that put him on youtube for political purposes. We have the entire neighborhood to back us up. She tried to get injunctive relief in the form of a restraining order in superior court and was DENIED. Once again NOBODY speaks to them. She put a video up on youtube disclosing my personal info, and writes childish comments under assumed names hourly. My reason for posting about this being was to let people know that when she was doing this to Janet, that she has a history of this behavior and to let Janet know she wasn’t alone. We have started nothing up in our neighborhood. She didn’t like that I campained against her and she’s mad. There has been nothing in our neighborhood other than Nov. 4 where SHE bumped me and then called the police, who didn’t even speak to me, and Nov 6 where her husband on 5 occasions was videotaping me. But when the camera turned to him, he didn’t like it. Her husband and mine had words between EACHOTHER, not the children. That has been it. She doesn’t want people to know the truth about what she’s done. I hope you don’t give her what she wants. She’ll still attack you, whether you give in or not.

Just to let you know - I am not sure what this is in reference to, I am assuming that Taryn has some new blog or you tube video - my guess is that she sees that Eric is still managing to get attention and she wants some to.

I know you can’t ignore her because she lives next door, but no one else is paying attention to her. It is all very sad, actually. I have never met her, have seen her once briefly behind a the glaring light of some wierd video camera.

Bottom line is that she, along with Julius and Schwaab are still grasping for attention while the rest of those who were elected move along and get to work.

Ingore her the best you can with cameras rolling on everything you do….know that the rest of us know what she is all about.

Well, I understand she might be mimicking another nut on another blog, something about an open letter…. its not an open letter to ME if I am not going to read it.
One of the other Hate Blog Monitors was kind enough to tell me about it, but I told him I wasn’t interested in reading any of their stuff tonight, or tomorrow, or at all. The last thing I read from Julius involved him typing some abhorant stuff about Bob Smith and that convinces me that he has dipped down to the lowest of lows.

I am not interested anymore.

I don’t care what he has to say, and what he threatens to do, nor do I care what Thoman is threatening.

There are more important things to worry about.
Schwaab has me concerend because there is a possibility that in is lastest thrust for attention he will again cost us staff time/money, and I think we need to call an end to this.

He may have an unlimited supply of someone else’s money, but the rest of us don’t.

These guys can throw temper tantrums, scream, yell, stomp feet, use profanity, and make crazy accusations, and spout loonie new conspiracy theories, but, like most of us, I have work to do, and family coming home ….. too bad these guys don’t get it, the people spoke to them with their votes.

The voters said, “sorry, but we aren’t interested”
and neither am I..

I am glad to see that you guys are going to turn the ligts out on these people. I have had dealings with Taryn Thoman. She routinely goes after people attacking them at every turn. My child used to attend pre-school at St. Peters Church and Taryn Thoman is well known for her antics and odd behavior. She would speak about her issues openly as if we should be impressed. My child was invited to bithday parties at her home but I would not entertain the thought of putting my child in that situation. My advice would be to stick to your guns and ignore her completely as I did. It takes a while but she will get the point. I do not personally know the others that you have mentioned but if they keep her as company, I can only imagine. As the saying goes, “show me your friends and I will tell you what you are.” God bless.

As the town council president, can you do something about Julius showing up at a council meeting after promising all of Barnstable he would go away for good?
      Would you ask him if he forgot to say that if he lost he would be back?

      What a fool, he says he is coming to the council meeting. Tell him for all of us that we want him to keep his damn word and stay away.

I have heard from an overwhelming number of people that they are tired of seeing people like Julius at the microphone at public comment.

      Apparently this is also being posted on other blogs in response to something Julius said somewhere on a hate-blog about showing up at our next meeting to blast us about the water company and spew some conspiracy theory… that has us all pocketing money rather than fixing problems….

      Let me make it clear, regardless of whether a councilor is president, no councilor can tell him or anyone to stay away.

      The only way we can tell them to stay away is if they violate the rules of public comment.

      They can speak their two or three minutes of babbling conspiracies and tales of ineptitude.

      IT is up to YOU!!
      If you want him to go away, you tell him.

      If you want to reach him, call his office at Centerville. I won’t post phone numbers here like they do, and I won’t post his home address like they do, but since he has told the public more than once what he does for work, then that info is public.

      Tell you what “brad” like so many of my friends I originally thought a mayor might be a good way to go. But after listening to these psychos, I have rethought this and done some serious research.

      I am going to start my own blog and have spoken to many people in towns that have gone to mayor forms of govermnet who wish they hadn’t!

      What difference would a “mayor” have made this past weekend, “brad”? How would this have changed the fact that DEP requires people to be notified by press releases? How many towns with “mayors” have contracted with phone systems like the one our town has? How many towns with “mayors” would have covered up this problem to save the “mayor’s” rear end??

      GEt your facts straight, “BRAD” mayor or no mayor, the situation would have been the same!!!

      A mayor would be a politically appointed mananger, which would mean that he/she would he hiring managers based on polical promises!!
      Why would you trust a policitician any more than you trust the current government??

    TJ, It was nice to meet you Tuesday. It was a good cause and I believe it made a difference, though a bit wet. I also was taped by “Mr. Thoman” and a babysitter or two 5 times-Janet saw one of the video sessions! I also received a threatening e-mail from Ms. Thoman’s sister Terese Marinelli from her work e-mail in Ohio-that was a bit STUPID of her. I guess they plan on reporting us to DSS again. Oh well, we are on a first name basis with them, now. We have become accustomed to their tactics at this point. But SHE LOST! Karma! You’ve gotta love it. Thank-you to everyone who supported our cause. Becky gave me an umbrella, Colleen gave me a windbreaker, Linda-thanks for the hot chocolate, TJ thanks for the converation, Brad-it was nice to meet you. And to everyone who beeped, thumbed up and voted for people other than Thoman, Thank-you. I am glad it is over and the good guys won. As Schwaab said-the people of Barnstable aren’t stupid, obviously they aren’t.

It’s funny how Ms. Taryn Thoman and her sister Terese Marinelli from Ohio accuse Janet Joakim of being financially irresposible. I think we all have experienced hard times at least one time in our lives, myself included. So to call somebody out on that is ludicrous in the first place, but Ms. Taryn Thoman is the last who should speak on this issue.

The “responsible” business owner of a rock shop on Main St. in Hyannis had $10,396.80 in state and federal tax liens against her store which were recorded 1-18-01 and later released 10-9-01. She also HAS $4522.38 in state and federal tax leins currently against her rock shop. She also has a mortgage from 4-29-05 when she purchased her “dream home” with a galley kitchen and canary yellow countertops. ONLY 10 months later, Ms. Taryn Thoman had her property attached for a defaulted loan with TD Banknorth for $42,000.00 dated 3/6/06. She appeared to have taken out a 2nd mortgage with TD Banknorth, the same bank, for $50,000.00, which needs to be paid off in 4 or 5 years, this was dated 1-30-2007. Hmmm, 10 months and you already have an attachment on your property? If you ask me, that is financially irresponsible. She now has combined mortgages od 355,100.00 on her 2 bedroom 2 bath saltbox with 4 rooms! Can you asy NO equity. The point of this is that when you are in the situation of MS. Taryn Thoman fincially, the last thing you should do is call somebody else on it.

Today my wife was outside holding her “No on Thoman” sign(s) which I am sure that most of you have seen. “Ms. Thoman” was no where to be found. She was probably out campaigning in some part of town where she thinks that no one will know her. Not likely. Her Husand “Mr. Dennis Wilcox” was out as well, but not campaigning. He was taking pictures of my wife along with some video. When one of my wife’s friends showed up “Mr. Wilcox” took off running with his tail between his legs. He then appeared later on when he had some back up! And at that point he bagan running his mouth as usual. He again left. At different point he would send up two girls that looked like pre high school drop outs. I can only guess that it was done with the hope of intimidating my wife. They obviously don’t know her. She was very amused by them. There were some candidates that were out there as well and were very interested to hear about “Ms. Thoman” and what she has done to our family and this neighborhood. They have their own concerns as well about “Ms. Thoman.” I figured that I would take pictures of “Mr. Wilcox” as he walked his child home from school, to see how he would like it. He did not like at all and called the POLICE, imagine that. He then fabricated (as usual) things that I said to his Son. This seems to be their typical “M O” Why are they always saying that other people are abusing/harming their child? Janet Jokim was accused of abusing the “Thoman Child” and she has never seen the boy. I think this child is in need help. But the help is needed from within the home. Why are they always balming everyone around them for thier problems? An ENTIRE neighborhood cannot be wrong. The BPD cannot be wrong. The countless amount of people that have expressed concern or had run in’s with “Ms. Thoman” cannot be wrong. The answer is as plain as the nose on your face. They will get the answer when the look in the mirror and they don’t like what is looking back at them…

TJ, That video was funny. We are still laughing! But as I told my wife, “let her do what ever she wants to. The fact is and always will be that she lost her bid to get on the charter comission and you had something to do with it.” Our spreading the word about “Ms. Taryn Thoman who is also the owner of Trayn’s Mirror located in Hyannis on Main St and her husband(?) “Mr. Dennis Wilcox” will continue. “Ms. Thoman” will never sit on any seat except for the one at her computer where she can continue to write e-mails back and forth to herself. She is a desperate woman. Just yesterday we received a threatening e-mail from her sister “Terese Marinelli” who works for Ohio State University. Talk about STUPID. She sent it from her work e-mail! So my wife contacted her employer and the campus police. We are waiting to hear back from them about the action they will take. This is not the first time that she had threatened us. Terese Marinelli also called in a few threats to Janet Joakim as well. The “BPD” was interested in the e-mail as well as the you tube video. There is a definate history of violence and threatening from this family. They themselves have provided the proof. Their credability with that agency is gone at this point. So say what you want “Ms. Thoman” just remember, YOU LOST….

Gary has nurtured the hate and suspicion that John Julius brought to the table and Gary is the person who welcomed Taryn Thoman with open arms. Gary is the person who has supported Tom Dolby, Jason Cox, and anyone is willing to buy into the idea that this town along with its schools are run by hundreds of corrupt officials, managers, staff and workers, all able to get away with schemes to funnel money into their own pockets.

Once you have looked through the months and months of blog posting this man has written, it is clear that he has a flare for paranoia. Samples below

Gary has used all levels of insults, including racial, ethnic and sexist slurs.  Now Gary has organized the campaign to pass a charter commission and has endorsed members of his little group for both Council seats and Charter commission. Gary and his group known as the coggers, have endorsed, Schwaab and Cox for Council, Dolby for school committee, and several of his own group for charter commission whose goal is to “get rid of all of the councilors and get a mayor” the COGGERS include: John Julius, Taryn Thoman, Eric Schwaab, Jason Cox, Peter Doiran, Greg Milne , Tom Dolby and he is endorsing Bradley Ouimette, William Cronin, Oliver Cipiollini and John Alden.  Please don’t give any of these people your vote on Tuesday.

I hope this town will fight back against hate and vote against Lopez and his candidates.

Candidate’s trick soured kids’ treats

I attended the Oct. 31 trick-or-treating on Main Street in Hyannis with my four children and some friends, and was appalled to see a man passing out political propaganda for a local candidate. He was including the literature with the candy at her place of business.

This was supposed to be a children’s event, not a place to try and win votes of people there to have fun with their children. These candidates should keep campaigning where it belongs, and that should exclude children’s events.

If you look at the time stamp on many of their postings, you will see that they are virtually having conversations with themselves. They are often minutes apart and during the 3am hour. Only THEY would be up blogging at 3am.

How many of you had the pleasure of seeing “Mr. Dennis Wilcox” and his side Kick “Ms. Taryn Thoman” who is running for Charter commission and also is the owner of “Taryn’s Mirror” located in Hyannis on Main St. campaigning outside of the elementary school Marstons Mills East. The funny thing is that there were actually people yelling at them calling her “Crazy” and one woman stopped and asked “Aren’t you the crazy neighbor that tried to sue the Howell’s?” “Ms. Thoman was also seen at the airport rotary with her child, hmmm lets see we have a you tube video exploiting your child asking for votes and now we have him holding sign’s looking for votes. Child or pawn? I’ll let you decide. If they only knew how many people are actually laughing at them… My son had a hocky game over in Nantucket yesterday and the boat ride over provided a captive audience for me to ask that “NO ONE CAST A VOTE FOR TARYN THOMAN” There are 35 sets of parents that will be not be voting for her. I handed out at leat 100 flyers today with a brief run down on why not to Vote for Taryn Thoman. “No place for hate = No place for Taryn Thoman” as it is titled. Tomorrow this will all be over. I have already put together a detailed letter complete with a copy of EVERY court document, police report, DSS documents and letters that “Ms. Thoman” has written to my wife. It will give anyone who reads it a clear view of what “Ms. Thoman” and her husband “Mr. Dennis Wilcox” have done to my family and others in the neighborhood. I will hand deliver this to everyone on the Charter Commission and the Town Council should she by some miracle get on this commission. Again I want to thank you all for your support. Remember “Vote no on #3 and NO on Thoman!!!

Yes ….   And she is at it again.

As promised, I am going to share one of the ugly blogs Taryn Thoman created about me this summer, when she found a comment on my blog made by a neighbor, a short paragraph that referenced a situation between her and her neighbors that I knew nothing about.

I have never seen anything like it. I have never met this woman, and she became obsessed with tearing me to shreds via blogs and posts and comments on other blogs. She uses vulgarity, hatred, profanity; creates stories of victims of mine that never existed; and has painted me as a person that is so far from who I am.  At this point it is almost laughable. That is if there weren’t real families with real children suffering from her wrath as well.

On more than one occasion in her vulgar story telling, this woman has crossed the line. And there are people out there who are worried that she will, one day, actually hurt someone. As a college student said to me recently, this is the kind of person we study in that psychology class who lost it and committed serious crimes.

I will start with the blog she created about me, that the Cape Cod Voice used and that optimizes the label “hate blog.”

Notice how the comments that are posted are one right after another. She creates a blog, them posts her own comments posing as others…..

This woman is running for charter commission and is a close friend and supporter of Eric Schwaab, and John Julius……..

important addendum: Originally, I was not allowing the Howells to post details about their struggles on this blog.

Now the Howells and others are posting detailed comments on this blog can be found in the pages and pages of court documents they have shared with me. Before this woman went after me, she was after her neighbors. She had a disagreement with them over something she accused another neighborhood child of doing, and it escalated in a way that is something I have never seen.

She has filed charges against them at every turn, using and abusing the court system, the police, DSS and more. The small group of neighbors that had been living their for over ten years has dealt with nightmares since she moved in a little over 2 years ago.  After all of the charges were found to be baseless, the police filed criminal harassment charges against Ms. Thoman on behalf of her neighbors.

By the time it got to the DA they decides not to prosecute because there were so many counter charges they hoped a mediator could straighten it out. That is unfortunate, as agencies that were involved had declared this harassment.

I was contacted by the Howells shortly after Thoman and her sister started making phone calls to me, threatening me. The threats came close but did not cross the line to criminal harassment, according to the DA because she did not actually threaten a crime…..

“You better watch out”  “We have a large family and we are all going to be on the cape in two weeks, you better watch out”

I sat down and looked at files and files of court papers that chronical what this family and other neighbors have been through and clearly there is something wrong with this woman who is now running for office.  I have never seen anything like this, except maybe on some daytime talks show about trailer park neighbor disputes.

She has numerous cameras positioned around her house, pointed at the Howells so that when any of the Howells four kids are out in the yard playing, they are being filmed. Yes, that is legal, because there is no audio, believe it or not.

It is too bad that the DA didn’t prosecute this. It takes a little work to go through all of the papers and reports, but when you find a statement from DSS saying that Thoman was making false allegations against their neighbors, that clearly cost them time in investigations and reports, meaning it cost all of us money and takes away from the real children in danger, it is clear where the guilt lies.

The Barnstable Police are good at what they do, and they were able to sift through it all and file the charges on behalf of the neighbors.

Turns out, this is only one of the candidates with a recorded history that has made it to court….. I wonder why we don’t read more about all of this in the newspapers…..

I can tell you that “Ms. Thoman” owner of Taryn’s Mirrior located in Hyannis on Main St., is a sick, sick, sick woman. Her Husband “Mr. Dennis Wilcox” is a sick, sick, sick man (?) There is much to be said about a family that moves into a neighborhood approx. 1 1/2 ago and already has been rejected by the entire neighborhood like a bad kidney transplant. Living in thier home is just like living on an island. The response written above “This woman is running for office in my town” is just the right attitude to have. I cannot tell you howm many people have given me that same response. I am asking that everyone vote no on #3. Reason being it is casting two votes against “Ms. Taryn Thoman” and the other cronies. It is also nice to see that on the other blogs when you see the list of people NOT TO VOTE FOR “Ms. Taryn Thoman” is on everyone of them. Let me guess, another coincidence? Naaa can’t be. My wife was holding our “Vote no on #3 and no for Thoman sign” waiving to voters. The response she got was over whelming. I want to thank all of you that called and have e-mailed us. Your support is much appreciated. And to the other candidates that are running for Charter commission that have contacted us wanting to hear our story and to share stories of your own regarding “Ms. Thoman”, we will be voting for you. By the way, “Ms. Thoman” called the police (imagine that) and she was talking to the police officer she actually began crying(awwwwwwww). Cry me a river! I can promise you this. When and If this woman “Ms. Taryn Thoman” attempts to run for anything and I mean anything I don’t care if it’s for town trash collector (hmmm) I will be out there telling our story, putting up signs. The most amazing thing about this whole experience is the amount of enemies “Ms. Taryn Thoman” actually has. I wonder if she even knows? I almost forgot, I want to thank “Cep” for their post I liked the “Thoman Trash” refrence. Sounds catchy. That one is going to stick! In that case it’s time to take out the trash by voting on Nov. 6th.

Apparently Taryn Thoman feels the need to attack myself and my family, so I would like to set the record straight. My name is Christine Howell, I am the unfortunate one to have to live next door to Charter Commission candidate Taryn Thoman. I am employed by Cape Cod Hospital as a registered nurse, for which I graduated in 2004 with honors and a 3.75 GPA. I currently hold a staff position at one hospital and do per diem at 2 other hospitals, as it pays almost twice as much to do per diem. I have been married 11 years and have 4 children ages 4-10, all of whom are involved in activities and have friends in the neighborhood as well as out. I do not post them on you tube or exploit them for my own good. I have served on the equity in 70 committee, I volunteer in my children’s school regularly. I was accused by Ms. Thoman of flashing her husband in broad day light with my children and husband present and a neighbor who saw the whole thing but didn’t see what Taryn Thoman saw-note, the police did not charge me-she did, this was one of 17 criminal charges brought against my husband and I by Ms. Taryn Thoman and her “husband” Dennis Wilcox. She claimed to have a video, I have a copy of that same video, come by, I’ll show it to you. She showed police the video and they point blank told her that nothing was on it. ANYONE can press criminal charges against somebody. However, the Barnstable Police filed criminal charges against Taryn Thoman for the criminal harassment of my family as well as operating to endanger after she drove her car at an 8 year old child in my care-the school crossing guard is a witness as well as myself and another neighbor. I never ran a neighbor (her husband) off the road, but I went to my mailbox in my car, which is technically on the wrong side of the road. Because I am on 24/7/365 video, they took the video to the BPD with their version of events (3 days after the alleged occurance) and because I couldn’t remember 4 days ago (because nothing unusual happened), I was issued a summons for operating to endanger. The DA’s office never planned on prosecuting the case and it never went further. I was born, raised and educated in Barnstable and have many friends and aquaintances. MANY people trust me with their children, as my home is always a gathering spot for neighborhood children of all ages. 9 times out of 10 if you drive by you will see kids playing outside. Unfortunately for Taryn Thoman’s son, nobody will play with him because of his mother’s behavior. Dennis Wilcox is always seen at home-not working and has been noted by several neighbors on multiple occasions to be “pickled” in alcohol-even during the day. Taryn Thoman sells rocks and overpriced jewelry that at one time she purchased from a jewlery “outlet” in S. Yarmouth. My whole neighborhood still talks to our family, but not hers. That speaks volumes. We placed an anti-Thoman sign in our yard on halloween and Ms. Thoman cannot do anything to stop it-plus we have great visibility from Ost. W. Barnstable Rd. This is why she is lashing out. We have sworn affidavits from all the witnesses to what I’ve stated above. What’s the chance of a whole neighborhood wanting NOTHING to do with Ms. Thoman and her family if she was a good and decent person. Come on, the people of our town know better than that. It’s common sense. If the whole street thinks you are crazy, maybe you are! I am more than willing to show you my documents. I will not back down. She did what she did and it’s NOT OK!

The money it costs to file a lawsuit is HUGE. Trust me, we have MOUNDS of evidence and it piles up daily. If I was a lawyer, I would sue Taryn Thoman and her jobless husband in a heartbeat, but I can’t afford that. Who knows, the way she’s going there could be some type of a class action suit, it’s been done before. I will continue to exercise my rights and I refuse to let her intimidate me. I am a strong person and I can take it! NO for THOMAN!!!

It’s funny how Ms. Taryn Thoman and her sister Terese Marinelli from Ohio accuse Janet Joakim of being financially irresposible. I think we all have experienced hard times at least one time in our lives, myself included. So to call somebody out on that is ludicrous in the first place, but Ms. Taryn Thoman is the last who should speak on this issue.

The “responsible” business owner of a rock shop on Main St. in Hyannis had $10,396.80 in state and federal tax liens against her store which were recorded 1-18-01 and later released 10-9-01. She also HAS $4522.38 in state and federal tax leins currently against her rock shop. She also has a mortgage from 4-29-05 when she purchased her “dream home” with a galley kitchen and canary yellow countertops. ONLY 10 months later, Ms. Taryn Thoman had her property attached for a defaulted loan with TD Banknorth for $42,000.00 dated 3/6/06. She appeared to have taken out a 2nd mortgage with TD Banknorth, the same bank, for $50,000.00, which needs to be paid off in 4 or 5 years, this was dated 1-30-2007. Hmmm, 10 months and you already have an attachment on your property? If you ask me, that is financially irresponsible. She now has combined mortgages od 355,100.00 on her 2 bedroom 2 bath saltbox with 4 rooms! Can you asy NO equity. The point of this is that when you are in the situation of MS. Taryn Thoman fincially, the last thing you should do is call somebody else on it.

She had created yet another blog about myself which also included a featured section on several of her neighbors with some pretty outrageous claims. These are private citizens who have been through so much at the hands of this woman, and one has to wonder if an attorney advised her to stop.

I have just found this web site and I appreciate your work here. My mother lives in Hyannis and Mr.Scwhaab came to her door one day last week. She was very uncomfortable about his attitude. She told me there was something “off” about him. Then I saw the Voice newspaper and bought it for her. We read those articles and she is now very unhappy. She is now actually afraid of him his friends.

Then her neighbor and her were talking yesterday and the neighbor told her that the same guy came to his door several times and they wer angry and told him to stop. He read the newspaper my mother had and he is also angry.

The neighbors don’t usually vote and we have told them to vote so that this creep doesn’t become a counillor and end up being my mother’s councillor.

I want to help and am sending you an email to give you my information. I live in Cotuit so I can’t vote aginst him but I want to help.

My family, including my 4 children ages 4-10 have lived on Mountain Ash Rd. for 11 years this December. We have always had a friendly rapport with our neighbors, though only one that we were friends with, as we have children the same ages.
Ms. Thoman moved in May 2005 with her then 3 year old son. She seemed “odd” from day one, but I am a benefit of the doubt kind of person. My then 7 year old never liked her-she’s like her dad , a realistic judge of character, but she was polite to this new family. By July 2005 another neighbor became Ms. Thoman’s target of hate-he was an 8 year old boy! I didn’t alienate this child and his family, as she wanted me to and by September we became the new target-1 civil lawsuit (including 9 eronious charges), 17 criminal charges(by Thoman & her husband-not the police), 7 DSS reports later (all unfounded & unsupperted) and 1 1/2 + years of our time and lawyers fees-she stopped.
Why? Because she was running for charter commission.
Then Janet Joakim became her new person to HATE! The whole time, we have remained on 24/7/365 video surveillance with 3 cameras that we know of and a new one added this week, mounted to a tree-it’s infra red and aimed down the street towards our home. They even cut down limbs of trees that were blocking views to our yard!
NOBODY in the neighborhood will even wave at her. She has gone to great lengths to cover this information up, including removing the you-tube video she made with the childish drawings over pictures in exchange to hide this info. Even david Still has removed anything negative written on dotcommons. It’s funny how he lets the coggers say what they want, but Ms. Thoman is protected? What’s going on there?
This neighborhood has edured a lot at the hands of Ms. Thoman and her husband, but I would like to thank her. She has brought our neighborhood closer and where I used to have aquaintances, I now have friends. Ironically, the family she started harassing, the one she wanted us to not associate with, is the family we have become the closest to. A good and wise person once told me, people like her will self implode. I will wait for that day, it’s karma. In the mean time lets make sure to tell everyone we know to not vote TT or JJ or eric Schwaab. We have many friends and relatives in District 3-GO MUNAFO!!!

I used to work for Taryn Thoman years ago. She will tell you what ever she has to in order to get what she wants from you. People like this do not change. A former member of the No place for hate committe? What a joke. This woman is full of hate. It is a sickness and she is infected. I will not leave my name as I am not sure of what she may do. I did not leave on good terms. Imagine me wanting to get paid for the work that I did. She is very charming at first but over time her true colors come out. Her husband is a wacko as well. Thoman has a reputation for obsessive behavior.
Her levels of hate and obsession seem to be escalating and I would take care with her. She is libel to snap soon.

I just hope no one gets hurt. They all seem like the kind of people you see on “Law and Order” taking the perp walk.

Bravo M. Hersey. Finally someone has called one of them out. He is definately up to something. His crew of cronies especially “Ms. Taryn Thoman” of #22 Mountain Ash Rd and owner of Taryn’s Mirror located on main St. in Hyannis are sneaky liars. They are both manipulators! Like two peas in a pod! The more people that are made aware of this type of “BS” the better off we will all be. You know the people that actually live here, have roots here. I do not see how he could scare people into voting for him. I view him as a laughable as I do Ms. Thoman. Actually, the entire neighborhood is laughing. In fact, we are all going to vote and refer to it as the “anyone by Thoman vote” We will all be voting “NO” on #3 There is strength in numbers. Take it from me, these people have the bark of a big dog but the bite of a puppie with no teeth. There will always be the threat of “I’m calling my lawyer” Another thing to take from me, that is a very entertaining sight to see. I also want to thank you Janet for catching this post and posting it here for all to see. You are right that he will probably remove the post as to not be exposed. Neighborhood laughter once again! If this is not bad enough. My neighbor “Ms. Taryn Thoman” of Mountain Ash Rd and the owner of “Taryn’s Mirror” located in Hyannis on Main St. has added yet another camera to her “compound” My wife was walking home from school with the another neighbor and the woman she was with broke out in laughter and said “You have got to be kidding me, another camera” “Ms.” Taryn Thoman has my home as well as the home of another neighbor who lives behind me on her 24 hour video surveillance. She has just added another camera to catch the cars coming down the road. What is she so afraid of? I think the clock is winding down and the wrongs that she has committed, which there are many, are catching up to her. I cannot imagine going through everyday life looking over my shoulder. Being true to my word, tonight I went door to door to inform my neighbors about the camera that is now recording incoming and outgoing cars from
Mountain Ash Rd that was put up by “Ms. taryn Thoman” and her husband “Mr. Dennis Wilcox” Taryn is also the owner of Taryn’s Mirror which is located on Main St. in Hyannis. The neighbors were not pleased. Unfortunately, I cannot post the exact comments that were made. I again reiterated that she is running for charter commission and that on Nov. 6th it is important to get out and vote. “Vote for anyone but Thoman” as we have all come to call it. I also made them aware of her place of business. You know what they say about word of mouth… I guess the moral to this story is that people do not want individuals who exhibit such bizarre behavior serving in any capacity. I will quote one neighbor who lives on the other side of Mountain Ash Rd “Our town allows nut bags like that to run for a seat?” I replied “Unfortunately yes” We all need to take the advice that we have been given. I have never seen such irresponsible writing from a person in your position in my life! What people are saying may not be to your liking. However, the response from you and your followers demonstrates the attitude that has always existed in this area. Maybe you may not like the way things are being said, but there is some truth to what is being said. You continually say you do not read the blogs and always respond to the most recent writings from the people you are in opposition with. From a person of color that was born and raised in this town I can only pray for the sake of ‘all’ Barnstable citizens that change is coming!!

These people are doing the same sort of thing, aren’t they? While you guys are getting national awards and high bond ratings, they are running around like chicken littles telling us the sky is falling, blaming town government for that aren’t in the pervue of town government….

Let us hope that the voters of Barnstable prove far more intelligent than the Koggers and Muffy think they are. If people support the kind of hateful tactics that the hate blogs have rolled out over the past couple of years by voting for any of those weasels, I will lose a lot of respect for our community.

Voters, please tell the hate bloggers and their supporters that good government requires decent behavior on ALL sides….to disagree with someone on a political issue doesn’t require you to hate them as a person.

I have been watching all of this from afar for several months.
What this little group of misfits is doing to my home town is shameful. I volunteered to serve on several different boards and committees for years in the past and I have to say that reading these blogs from another state is depressing.

Who are these people? Where did they come from? Lopez is a name I remember from the 90’s as someone who would write letters and show up at various meetings. He always appeared disorganized and scattered.

In our state, a blogger was sued by a county commissioner who claimed that the commissioner was getting kickbacks. The case like many others like it was settled out of court.

What you all don’t seem realize is that this is how most of these cases end. I hope someone up there will have the guts to take Lopez and Eric Schwab to court. There is a lot to work with there.

Thank you for your blog and the few others that seem to be on track. It seems they outnumber the bad guys.

Of course our town deserves better. If you read their blogs they dont even make sense, its a bunch of lies and intimidations, peppered with capitalizations for scary emphasis. They bring nothing positive to the table, in fact its the extreme opposite. Hopefully they will be exposed for who they truly are by enough people before election time.

I have had several calls and emails about Eric Schwaab’s latest effort to stir the pot from his home office in Brighton.

After declaring, like his fearless leader lopez, that he will stop blogging, he has started another blog. He calls it a “free press” but it looks like a blog, barks like a blog, and is uses “typetrend” a blog software service ….. so ladies and gents, it is another bugsy blog.

What is upsetting so many people is that this guy just gets worse as he refuses to accept his loss in the polls.  He is writing letters trying to interfere with an election that is over and done with, that have no basis in fact and once again show a complete misunderstanding of process and how it works….. (he still claims that the council appoints the water board members… for someone who is so concerned about this issue, will he ever educate himself on the process….)

This new blog is pretty ugly in that he has live links to another series of very graphic blogs that are full of photographs and include such subjects as teen sex, blondes have more fun, and subjects we won’t discuss here.

It is obvious that the guy doesn’t have children, and has no children in his life. But what about other family and friends?  Does anyone ever advise him to tone down the vulgar language, or suggest he not link to what appears to be pornography? Does he have no shame?

This might be acceptable material to the urban dwellers with lots of time and money on their hands, but here in suburbia, we don’t tolerate that sort of thing.

Thoman was quoted as saying "I’m weighing the option of having my life ruined by these people." It does not look like she wants that type of attention. Priority number one was to get the charter commission referendum approved.

John Julius was there from Day One at Liberty Hall in Marstons Mills and August 20, 2005, and was a major force in getting the 7,000 signatures of registered voters to get the issue on the ballot.

Without all this work, there'd be no charter commission, and no new town charter.

The second priority was to get Greg Milne elected to the Charter Commission.

To make the whole thing work we needed at least 5 charter commissioners elected who were pro-change.

If a new charter is adopted, unless it goes back to town meeting/board of selectmen, the only options left are some form of mayoral government.

There were 22 candidates, and the name of the game was "five"

There are five charter commissioners committed to change.

Greg Milne was elected.

Question 3 was approved 3 to 2.

Yes John was defeated, but John didn't campaign, and has never run for political office.

Thoman campaigned a little, but it was her first venture into politics, and she was 23 votes shy of getting a seat if Greg doesn't get seated.

Bill Cronin and Oliver Cippoline\i came within 20 votes of Taryn.

In other words another 100 votes would have meant a completely different charter commission.

We feel we won.
