Tonight’s council meeting opens up with a yard sale where

$250,000

of taxpayer money will be given to Joe Keller to subsidize his for profit 148 unit ghetto in the industrial park.

After all 40 of the units will be leased as affordable units.

Joe’s for-profit project will be built on leased town-owned land using

$250,000 from local sucker's tax revenue,

$1 million of state taxpayer funds,

$15 million from a Citizen’s Bank loan,

and as little as possible of his share of the $11 million taxpayers gave him a couple of years ago for his nearly bankrupt golf course on Route 132.

Janet Joakim, et al will gift wrap a quarter-million dollars of your money and hand it over to Joe tonight.

The problem is if the state doesn’t gift wrap him another $1 million, he’ll abandon the project leaving Barnstable taxpayers holding the bag for tonight’s gift.

Later the council will put $750,000 of your money into a special account to shop for ownership of the seven-tenths of an acre Suni Motel on Craigville Beach Road.

Sure the property is on 2.7 acres, but two of the acres are wetlands that can never be developed by anyone.

The owners are in bankruptcy, and a $575,000 bid for the property was rejected by the Bankruptcy Court...

The council wants to enter the bidding war for the tiny motel.

Be sure to attend the yard sale to look for special red tag items.  Other giveaways tonight are

• a zoning change to permit Banknorth to build a drive-through bank at Blanchard’s, sealing the liquor store's fate, as a business,
  
• or at the property between Blanchard's property, nee the Knight's of Columbus, and the Centerville CVS store, which is like twisting the knife in Blanchard's back.
  
• a zoning change and regulatory agreement on School Street to allow the owners to build a 16-unit housing development on a ¾ acre parcel,
  
• and a zoning change and regulatory agreement for the construction of a ten-unit hostel (cheap hotel) on half-acre lot at 111 Ocean Street.

Contrary to what you read in the Cape Cod Times today, my sources now confirm that Mosby was not fired last night.

Mosby's womanizing, threatening to kill, violating restraining orders, and sexually harassment of employees, surfaced more than a year ago, but he was permitted to stay.

The town council obliquely affirmed support of Mosby when it reappointed his mentor, Michael Dunning last year to a new term on the Airport Commission.

Usually reliable sources told me that Patty Daley, who played a major role in the Blanchard's fiasco, will be moving back to the Cape Cod Commission.

Thank God for that, because she's turned this town into a bureaucratic nightmare with her changes to the administrative code.

The Bank is going between CVS and the Knights of Columbus hall. It will be were the old greenhouse currently sits.

Tonight's zoning amendment allows for drive through banks on Route 132m abd Route 28 which means it will apply to both the Blanchard's Mall site, and the ole I Found the Florist site abutting the old Knights of Columbus property now owned by Blanchards.

The ordinance is not specific to any one site, but general to any Shopping Center Redevelopment Overlay District.

The Rats in Town Hall are starting to look for holes to hide. I have it on good and very credible sources that the town council hit men were placed on the airport commission, are now trying to get rid of Mosby buy him off and get him out of town because the Rectrix boys have uncovered some dirt in town hall. Rumor has it that they want to get rid of the Airport Manager because he doesn't want to play in the sand box. Rumor has it that Mosby has some goods that could maybe put a few folks behind bars. There is an executive session in town hall tonight or somewhere to make some kind of a deal. I may not be one of Doc's main men either, but I hate it when the Rats try to stick it to someone else just to cover their own asses! COG I know you folks are not Mosby fans either, but he may have something you folks may be interested in. I don't know what he has, but sources close to Boston says he could send the town reeling! Time for the rats in town hall to go, and maybe get rid of some of the rats on the airport commission too.
